Are you a seasoned project leader with experience in earthworks, civil engineering, or large and complex quarry operations? This is your opportunity to lead a key section of the HS2 programme, one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.
Our client, a leading earthworks contractor, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major HS2 section. This role offers significant leadership autonomy, supported by an experienced senior team.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of your HS2 section, including managing planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement.
We seek individuals who have progressed from technical delivery roles such as Site Engineer or Agent, with experience managing complex, large-scale projects in earthworks, civils, or large quarry operations.
Key Project Manager Responsibilities
· Lead the delivery of a major HS2 section—ensuring safety, quality, and commercial goals are met.
· Manage key relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
· Work with commercial, planning, and HSEQ teams to ensure smooth project execution.
· Lead and inspire your project team, maintaining high performance and safety.
· Report on progress and risks to the senior leadership team.
What You Bring
· Experience in UK-based earthworks, linear infrastructure, or large and complex quarry operations.
· Strong technical knowledge of earthmoving plant, material logistics, and project delivery.
· Commercially aware with experience in NEC or similar contract management.
· Proven leadership and excellent communication skills.
· Valid CSCS card (Black or equivalent).
